OVERVIEWI joined a project with a motivated but inexperienced team, including five junior designers, developers, project managers, and stakeholders from the USA. The team was making progress but needed better UX-development alignment, workflow efficiency, and structured decision-making.

My Role & Responsibilities

Guided and supported five junior designers, helping them develop their UX skills, build confidence, and improve design decision-making.

Defined and led the UX strategy, ensuring a structured, high-quality design process that aligned with business and technical needs.

Worked closely with engineers to bridge the gap between design and development, ensuring feasibility and smooth execution.

Created user flow patterns for junior designers to follow, making it easier to track all use cases—including edge cases—while maintaining consistency across designs.


Challenges & Solutions

Aligning Stakeholders on UX Priorities
Multiple stakeholders, including product owners, developers, and the customer had differing priorities, requiring clear alignment on UX goals and design decisions.

SOLUTION Led stakeholder discussions and design reviews, ensuring that UX decisions were aligned with business objectives, timeline and were technically feasible.

Defining Clear UX Requirements
The initial requirements lacked clarity, leading to ambiguity in feature scope and misalignment between design and development.

SOLUTION Collaborated with product owners and engineers to translate business needs into concrete UX requirements, refining user flows and wireframes before handoff.

Establishing a Scalable Design Process
The team needed a structured approach to streamline collaboration, maintain consistency, and improve efficiency.

SOLUTION Implemented a UX workflow, standardizing design handoffs, feedback loops, and documentation, ensuring smoother communication with developers.


Bridging UX & Development
Gaps between design intent and development execution risked delays and inconsistencies in the final product.

SOLUTION Facilitated cross-functional syncs, working closely with engineers to validate feasibility, refine interactions, and solve implementation challenges early.

Mentoring & Developing Junior Designers
A team of five junior designers required guidance in user research, interaction design, and stakeholder communication.
